The University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) is the reigning No. 1 Top Performing School in the country after the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released results of this month’s National Pharmacist Licensure Examination, where UIC garnered a passing rate – a sweeping 91.14%!
The national passing rate was only 54.28% with only 641 successful examinees out of 1,181; and the No. 2 performing school (Our Lady of Fatima University,ValenzuelaCity) had a rating of 82.26%.
Three UIC graduates emerged as top 7, 8, and 10 in the mentioned board exam. They are Reysa Raphaelle Gabilagon, Graille Ann Jaroda, and Nevia Sheena Boreros with ratings of 90.58, 90.50, and 89.82, respectively.
A total 72 out of 79 UICian takers successfully passed the Licensure Exam. 69 of the 72 new UIC pharmacists were first takers, while three were re-takers. “It’s just as if we were taking a regular long test in one of our Pharma subjects in UIC,” mused one UICian examinee after the first day of the two-day exam. “I think we were over-prepared,” adds another.
The comments of the UICian successful takers exhibit their strength and confidence in the accumulated knowledge they gained in their four years as Pharmacy students in UIC.

The board exam was given by the Philippine Board of Pharmacy (with Ms. Marilyn M. Young-Tiu as Chairman and Ms. Jennifer M. Flores as member) simultaneously inManila,Baguio,CebuandDavaoCities, last January 12–13. The official results were released by the PRC a few days after.
This success could be attributed to the strong faculty line up of the Pharmacy program, the state-of –the –art laboratory facility, theUICScienceResourceCenter, and the most sincere support of the UIC administration. To wit, UIC is the first school to offer the Pharmacy course inMindanao, also pioneered the course BS Pharmacy major in Clinical Pharmacy in the wholePhilippines.
