UIC’s Research Director and Research Associate Dr. Renan P. Limjuco and Prof. Emma V. Sagarino, respectively, were named National Research Advocacy 2012 Awardees during the PAIR (Philippine Association of Institutions for Research, Inc.) National Conference & Training Workshop on Enabling Policies, Programs and Best Practices in Research and Publication in Compliance to CHED’s Typology in Higher Education held in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines on November 14 – 16, 2012 at Pearlmont Inn Hotel, N Hotel, and Pryce Plaza, respectively.
The distinction was awarded by the said research organization due to Limjuco and Sagarino’s sharing of the University of the Immaculate Conception’s (UIC) Best Practices in Research and Publication. Delivering the talk entitled “A Juxtaposition of Best Practices in Research and Publication and Typology Framework for a University Status: A University of the Immaculate Conception Experience,” they succeeded in revealing the top ten best practices in research and publications of the UIC and in explaining also how these agenda become reflective evidences of the strength and effectiveness of the research policies, programs, incentive schemes and values that describe the research culture of our institution.
The three-day training was highlighted by Dr. Roberto N. Padua’s keynote address “Typology-Based QA for Philippine Education Institutions: Through the Fabric of Instruction, Research and Extension Function of HEIs”, the awarding of Outstanding Filipino Researchers 2012, and the holding of plenary presentations of almost twenty-one participants coming from different parts of the Philippines.
