Rafael Carl Ong Go, an Electronics Engineering (ECE) graduate of 2012 makes it to the 9th place in the October 2012 ECE Board Examination. This achievement of the 21-year old Mr. Go brought UIC to the list of ECE topnotchers for this licensure examination. The irrefutable academic institutions with which the top ten examinees are affiliated include Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Saint Louis University, University of the Philippines-Diliman, Ateneo de Manila University, Adamson University, University of Saint La Salle, and Xavier University.
When asked about the intensity of his mental preparation for the examination, Rafael Carl Ong Go who entered UIC in School Year 2007-2008 expressed, “six months of my life were all dedicated to review. I spent much of the time studying the materials but I did not forget to relieve my stress by playing games or hanging out with friends. I prayed to God everyday and went to church every Sunday. Of course, I always do these things. We all do. But the review center helped me a lot too because they taught us the techniques like reading efficiently the problem/item and thinking fast. The UIC curriculum was also a great help. The seed of knowledge comes from what is learned in UIC and then it grows and blooms later in some situations, like for instance, in the right review center; though some students might not appreciate this idea now, I believe, they will realize this fact sooner or later. The record that Go set truly served as an inspiration to many Engineering students. To the next batch of ECE students of UIC, Go said, “I am confident that UIC will produce more competent and successful engineering graduates and I certainly envision that the next EcE graduates will also become globally known and even be included in the list of top inventors.”
With Rafael Carl Ong Go as the 9th placer are the following UIC ECE graduates who completed the list of the UIC passers in the October 2012 ECE Board Examination held in Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Davao on October 20 & 21, 2012.
